Description

Come help FareStart glean at 21 Acres!

FareStart's Food Recovery Team has generously been invited to harvest excess crops from 21 Acres throughout the summer. Volunteers will participate in helping to provide fresh, local, and nutritious products to the community. No farming needed!

21 Acres is a leader in sustainable and regenerative practices, serving as a living laboratory center for sustainable ways of living. Their purpose is to promote the benefits of local food systems within the context of climate challenges through their farm, community gardens, native plant nursery, education center, and more.

For those new to gleaning, gleaning is:

  • The act of harvesting or collecting unused or surplus produce from farms and distributing it to those experiencing food insecurity
  • Traditionally defined as gathering anything left over after a harvest
