Come help FareStart harvest produce from The Bellevue Urban Garden!
This year for the first time, The Bellevue Urban Garden (tBUG) has generously offered to grow crops specifically for FareStart to be used in our hunger relief meals. The produce grown in the FareStart garden plot within tBUG will help us incorporate fresh, local, and nutritious products into our hunger relief meals and diversify ingredients. Our support of tBUG also helps to expand their mission of growing and sharing food.
The Bellevue Urban Garden is a three-acre farm dedicated to bringing joy to all. Driven by light, love, and life, tBUG is a volunteer-run farm that provides exploration, educational and volunteer opportunities, and nourishing food for families, students, and youth.
For those new to gleaning, gleaning is:
- The act of harvesting or collecting unused or surplus produce from farms and distributing it to those experiencing food insecurity
- Traditionally defined as gathering anything left over after a harvest
