Overview
In collaboration with farm and community partners, we source fresh produce and staples to redistribute to communities with limited access to healthy and nutritious foods. During the Community Mobile Market events, volunteers and staff members display and restock these products, engage with customers, and assist with shopping needs.
Tasks
- Support market staff
- Help set-up market
- Welcome and engage with customers
- Keep product stocked and available
- Assist customers with market selections including weighing and bagging items
- Help clean up and break down market
Qualifications and Requirements
- Be able to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly.
- Be able to stand and walk for up to 2 hours.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable talking with people
- Bilingual helpful but not necessary in the following languages: Spanish, Ukrainian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, & French Creole
- Adhere to FareStart's volunteer expectations
- Must be 16yrs + of age
