Overview
Join FareStart as an Information Tabling Ambassador at Starbucks’ Coffee with Community event! In this role, you will help introduce new audiences to FareStart’s mission, programs, and volunteer opportunities. This is a great opportunity for outgoing individuals who enjoy engaging with the public and representing a meaningful cause.
FareStart is a social enterprise nonprofit that uses food as a tool to transform lives, disrupt poverty, and nourish communities through job training and employment programs.
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down a small information booth at the event
- Engage with customers and community members in a friendly, approachable manner
- Share key information about FareStart’s mission, impact, and programs
- Answer basic questions and direct people to additional resources (website, materials, staff contacts)
- Encourage community members to get involved through volunteering, donations, or visiting FareStart locations
- Help create a welcoming and positive presence for FareStart at the event
Qualifications
- Comfortable speaking with the public and initiating conversations
- Interest in community engagement, food justice, or workforce development
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full shift
- Must be 18+ years of age for independent volunteer roles
- Familiarity with FareStart is helpful but not required (talking points will be provided)
What to Expect
- A brief orientation and talking points will be provided in advance
- This is a standing, interactive role with consistent community engagement
- Volunteers should dress comfortably and appropriately for a public-facing event
Impact
As an ambassador, you help expand awareness of FareStart’s programs and connect more people to opportunities that support students on their path to employment and stability.
